The Game returns, rather unexpectedly, for its second season. The spin-off of lead-in
Girlfriends,
The Game focuses on a young woman who forgoes a chance to attend medical school in order to follow her professional football playing boyfriend to San Diego.
The Game didn't fare all that well in the ratings last year and, when the CW announced its fall schedule for 2007,
The Game's appearance on the schedule was a major surprise.
The show is, oddly enough, produced by Kelsey Grammar (
Frasier), who has his own new sitcom coming this fall (
Back to You), albeit on FOX.
The Game serves as the anchor for the CW's Monday night comedy line-up, the only night the fledgling network has half-hour comedies.
