ABC Family's long list of original scripted dramas is about to get bigger by two. The network has officially picked up The Fosters and Twisted, two new dramas that will air this summer.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

The Fosters, from executive producer Jennifer Lopez, centers on two moms raising a racially diverse group of children, some biological, others from foster care. Sherri Saum from In Treatment and Teri Polo from The West Wing will play the moms. Wizards of Waverly Place star Jake T. Austin and Cierra Ramirez from The Secret Life of the American Teenager will also star.

Twisted (formerly titled Socio) is a murder mystery in line with the network's top hit, Pretty Little Liars. It centers on a troubled and charismatic 16-year-old (Victorious star Avan Jogia) who reconnects with his two female best friends from childhood. When a female student at his new school is found dead, he is the prime suspect. The show also stars Denise Richards.

The Fosters and Twisted add to ABC Family's already substantial line-up of dramas, including Pretty Little Liars, The Lying Game, Switched at Birth, Bunheads and The Secret Life of the American Teenager, which is ending soon.

Both shows tie in nicely with the two primary styles ABC Family succeeds in. The Fosters is in the family-friendly framework of Secret Life and Switched at Birth while Twisted is more mysterious and dangerous like Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game.

ABC Family also seems to be the place where stars transition into more young adult roles, someplace between Disney Channel and the CW. Here that transition goes to Austin, who had a long run as the family's youngest wizards on Disney's wildly popular Wizards of Waverly Place and Jogia, who is currently on the final season of Nickelodeon's Victorious.

They will begin production this spring with a summer premiere yet to be scheduled.
