Lesli Kay to Cross Over from 'Bold and the Beautiful' to 'Young and the Restless'

As loyal fans of
The Bold and the Beautiful know, the popular CBS daytime drama is a spin-off of
The Young and the Restless. Not surprisingly, over the years, characters from either of the two soaps have occasionally crossed over from one series to the other.
Come April this year, the tradition of intersecting storylines between the parent soap and its offspring will once again figure in
The Young and the Restless.
Lesli Kay, the Emmy-winning actress who essays the role of Felicia Forrester on
The Bold and the Beautiful, will move over to
The Young and the Restless next month. Reports have it that the migration may, for the time being, be semi-permanent. Kay's storyline on
The Bold and the Beautiful has been fairly stretched to the hilt. Bradley Bell, executive producer of
The Bold and the Beautiful, has apparently opted to lend Kay to
The Young and the Restless in order to keep her signed on with the Bell soaps until he can figure a way of reintegrating her back into
The Bold and the Beautiful.
"Of course this is all still dependent on whether or not the crossover sparks with [the] audience,” an insider said. “Y&R, which boasts more hunks than they know what to do with, needs her sex appeal, and her talent will fit right in."
Kay's impending turn on
The Young and the Restless will be her fourth role – three of which were with CBS - in a span of four years. In 2001, she bagged the Outstanding Supporting Actress plum at the Daytime Emmy Awards for her work on
As the World Turns. Kay commenced filming with
The Young and the Restless on February 28.
In related news, Kay's onscreen sibling, Tracy Lindsey Melchior, who played Kristen Forrester Dominguez for five years on
The Bold and the Beautiful, is rumored to also be vying for a part on
The Young and the Restless. Soap Central reports that insiders claim she had a “very strong audition” for the part of a character named Erin.
