Thirty-one year old Jay from New Bedford, Massachusetts is a funny but emotional guy who grew up in a tightly knit family. He is very close with his brother,
Mark , whom he enjoys competing with. In fact, the two work in the same company and are often mistaken for twins. Jay admits to being fat all his life, but recently, his weight problem has become even more serious. His doctor informed him that if he does not lose weight, he may become a candidate for gastric bypass. Because of this and for the sake of his family, Jay believes that he can make it on his mission to lose weight and maintain a healthier body. He is inspired by his daughter, who was born with Beckwith Weidemann Syndrome, and claims that he will do anything for the sake of his children. His New Year's resolution? To throw his kids in the air.
Brothers Jay and Mark decided to conquer their weight problem together and compete in NBC's The Biggest Loser 5 as the Black Team. Jay initially weighed in at 293 lbs.
