Another 'The Biggest Loser' Has Success at Home
Jerry Lisenby recently talked to Glamour about his weight loss success, which, happily, continued after he left the show.

Now, another The Biggest Loser contestant talks about how she continued to lose after leaving the show.

Patty Gonzalez has also been able to take off the pounds away from The Biggest Loser campus. However, she did struggle a bit with the adjustment of being back home.

She says, "My first trip to the supermarket was a wake-up call…I was on autopilot and picked up the Oreos…they were on sale and, come on, they were Oreos. But my son called me out, he said, "Mom, what are you doing with those?'"

She took her lessons from the campus and applied them to her diet at home. "Bob taught us to always eat protein, so along with my oatmeal and fruit breakfast, I'll have a small piece of grilled chicken."

She also says, "I'm a stress eater, so I need good-for-me options on hand at all times so I made a healthy buffet table in my fridge." What this translates to is a host of prepared healthy options ready to grab and go from the fridge, like grilled chicken, cut bell peppers, fresh and frozen fruit, cooked brown rice, cans of kidney and black beans, and string cheese.

Of course, diet isn't the only piece and she is keeping up the exercise portion as well. She wakes at 4:00 AM to do cardio six days a week. She also just finished a half marathon and is training for a full one next year.

Overall, she's lost seventy pounds! And she plans to continue for another fifty. She's also spread the spirit to her family and her oldest son has lost seven pounds himself. While some still feel The Biggest Loser is exploitative towards its subjects, it's hard not to feel like there must be some benefit to a program that helps someone like Patty kick start her own health makeover.
