Simon Maxwell Helberg was born on December 9, 1980 in Los Angeles, California to actor Sandy Helberg and casting director Harriet Helberg. He is a professional pianist turned actor who attended New York University's Tisch School of Arts where he trained in the Atlantic Theater Company. Helberg appeared in numerous television series and movies, gracing the television screen with appearances on

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. His film appearances include those in Van Wilder where he played Vernon,

Careless where he played Stewart. In 2007, Helberg was cast for a CBS television series
The Big Bang Theory and has completed filming the movie
Mama's Boy, where he played Rathkon.
Howard Wolowitz is played by Simon Helberg in the television series
