'The Bachelorette' Recap: Everyone Expected THIS Spanish Inquisition (Page 1/3)

Last time on The Bachelorette: Girlfriendgate exploded in Wes's face thanks to Jake, but he escaped, unscathed, with a rose on his lapel. Ed returned, sorry to have left Jillian, and was given another chance at love, along with a rose, while Michael and Jesse were sent home wanting.

Tonight: The final four--Kiptyn, Reid, Ed, and Wes--join Jillian in Spain for a week of romance and revelations. And plenty of vino.

First, we navigate the choppy sea of men who are left, with MaJillian as our captain.

The high and low of it:

Kiptyn: could be Mr. Perfect, but does that mean he could also be Mr. Heartbreaker?
Reid: has a unique charisma all his own, but does that mean he's too different from Jillian?
Ed: is committed to his career, but can he also commit to Jillian?
Wes: has a mystery about him that Jillian likes, but is he mysterious because he's a big, fat liar?

Date #1: Kiptyn in Madrid
Jillian worries that Kiptyn is out of her league, but he's thinking that he could fall in love with this tiny, squeaky waif in front of him. Love works mysteriously. As they walk through the streets of Madrid, Jill and Kip talk shop--or, rather, they sing rings. As in: proposals. Kiptyn, reasonably enough, thinks two months might be a bit shy of a ring-giving window, and Jillian worries he might never get there, but she hopes they're heading in the right direction (you can practically hear her ovaries screaming, "BABIES!!!"). Jill wants an engagement, and she wants it NOW! Or, at least, two weeks from now. But she realizes that she needs to take some things slow and see how they play out.

Kiptyn and Jillian then go flamenco dancing, the most exciting portion of which is that Kip's flamenco pants do not provide him ENOUGH portion for his "boys." Don't dance too hard, Kip. That could dampen Jill's baby plans swiftly.

After some goofy and decidedly unsexy fumbling around on stage, they hop on a moped and head to dinner. Over snails (and vino, of course), they talk about how they both want kids. (Has that sentence ever been written before? I doubt it.) Jillian says Kiptyn reminds her a lot of her dad, who is so genuine and nice that he has a hard time calling out her mother. Jill worries Kiptyn will also be a pushover, but he assures her that when something bothers him, she would know. Unfortunately, Jillian has proven that she's not the world's quickest study. Let's hope, for Kip's sake, he's VERY transparent.

When the "fantasy suite" note comes to the table, Jillian shocks a nation by telling Kyptonite that, even though they had fun flamenco-ing, she's not ready to do the horizontal tango with him. Yet. And that is one big, fat YET. Instead, they hit up the suite for some "fantas"-tic cuddling and making out. And more vino. THE END.

Date #2: Reid in Sevilla
Jill can't stop raving about Reid. She's got a perma-grin, she's giggly, he excites her, etc. I can't help feeling Reid's been robbed of the airtime he deserves, because we barely know this Casanova, and the season's almost over. Reid greets Jill with the two Spanish phrases he knows: "Hola mi amor! Muy bonita." Here ends the extent of both their Spanish knowledge. Hilarity ensues when Jill and Reid attempt to order picnic food from a Spanish deli. Eventually, through a combination of English, Spanish, French, Sign Language and Elvish, they obtain enough consumables to consume. Reid manages to tell the proprietor that he is a "muy grande" man in the process. Note to Jillian: Muy grande es muy bien!
