We didn't get to the bottom of the girlfriend mystery just yet but things got a little more interesting on The Bachelorette
last night. In a sort of unexpected twist, one bachelor decided to choose his career over love, adding more insult to Jillian Harris' already wobbly self-esteem.
If you missed it, you can read a recap in this article.
In a nut shell, Jillian took her remaining suitors to the resort town of Whistler where she had a one-on-one zip-line adventure date with Michael. Then, she took Wes, Robby, Jake, Kiptyn, Tanner, Ed, Reid, and Mark on an exhilarating snowmobiling adventure and later went on a solo date with Jesse, the smooth talking sailor. But things didn't go as planned when Ed was given an ultimatum by his boss to come back to work or else he's going to be fired. In the end, Jillian eliminated Mark while Ed decided to leave.
But something tells me that we haven't seen the last of Ed, who kept the date rose given by Jillian even though he opted to discontinue his stint on The Bachelorette
. If you read our spoilers article
, you'd find an interesting speculation about how one Bachelor is rumored to leave the show "for personal reasons" and then possibly return in later episodes. Ed clearly fits this conjecture and I wouldn't be surprised if he resurfaces before the season concludes. After all, the people behind the Bachelor-Bachelorette
franchise are notorious for twists and turns such as this.
Based on Ed's reason alone, it's as if this whole thing has been planned. Why would Ed come on The Bachelorette
knowing that his employer would get pissed off if he went missing for two months? I'm pretty sure that if his employer gave him permission, his employer wouldn't just take that back several weeks later---unless this is all part of a twist that would hopefully bring in more ratings.
