The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman’s Andy Baldwin has made public that he has already proposed to his “chosen” woman during a guest appearance on the television program The View.

Baldwin disclosed Friday when co-host Barbara Walters raised if he has already asked his girl to marry him. Co-host Rosie O’Donnell commented, "You're not allowed to say because that's part of the show, right?"

Despite O’Donnell’s remarks, Baldwin answered the question. He said, “I will tell you yes.”

"I'm so glad I did it because I am so in love. It worked. I'm smitten...I can't get her out of my mind…I met the love of my life and I'm so happy," said Baldwin. In other interviews, he has attributed his success in finding his match to ABC’s announcing of his identity prior to the casting of The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman.

This is something that sets Baldwin apart from previous bachelors who have generally failed to propose marriages to their selected woman on the show, except for The Bachelor season six star Byron Velvick, who has already proposed to the woman he has picked, Mary Delgado, and is bound to marry next month.

Meanwhile, Baldwin isn’t the only one in high spirits. His family is also pleased with his chosen girl and has no negative issues or concerns regarding their engagement. In fact, Baldwin’s sister, who was in The View’s studio audience, answered when she was asked if the family approves of his choice. She said, "Oh for sure, Absolutely... absolutely.”

Baldwin, a 30-year old doctor and lieutenant, was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He studied at Manheim Township High School and went to Duke University on a ROTC full scholarship where graduated magna cum laude. Eventually, he joined the United States Navy, and pursued medicine at UCSF and Naval Hospital San Diego.
