Jenn Hoffman became the eighth contestant to be fired from
The Apprentice: LA last night, after she led her team as Project Manager to a losing effort in a task for Lexus. Her team (Team Kinetic) had a poor showing, but it wasn't really Jenn's fault. Unfortunately, someone had to take the blame. Jenn took a few minutes of her time today to speak with us about her stint on
The Apprentice.
BuddyTV: Can you tell us a little bit about how you found yourself on The Apprentice?
Jenn: Yeah, well the amazing thing about it is that the second I heard about the show, I thought, “I am going to be on that show.” I never doubted it for even one second that I was going to be on it. As a matter of fact, I was actually offered a job with NBC and I turned it down because I said, “No I can’t work for NBC and also be a part of The Apprentice.” So, I was pretty sure the entire time that I was going to be on. During the audition process I kind of did the dorkiest thing ever: I actually brought a wheelie bag suitcase with me and dragged it with me behind like the firees do, and put my resume and my portfolio and everything else inside there.
On Team Kinetic, I don’t know if it was the editing or not, but you guys seemed to have a lot less fun than Team Arrow. Was that something that really happened or was that just the way it was edited?
No, that really happened. Kinetic was absolutely no fun at all. It was more like Arrow was this big frat party with more passionate people and Kinetic was kind of full of backstabbing bitches who didn’t want to party. So, basically it all started at LAX on the first task. When we won that reward, we got to go to that club. Well Aimee [Trottier] and I got ready to start pouring some shots and partying up like Arrow and Heidi [Androl] and Surya [Yalamanchili] kind of gave us the, “Ah, ah, ah, don’t you drink. It’s inappropriate during a job interview.” And I thought, “God, that sucks, but if that’s the way it’s going to be, I’ll play your silly, not fun game, Kinetic.”
Do you think that affected the performance of you guys as a team, that you weren’t really enjoying yourselves?
Oh, absolutely. I was kind of miserable. It’s funny because even though I left on a good note, and was so happy to be there and so excited about the whole thing, and formed good relationships with my teammates, really, in the end, I was quite unhappy on Kinetic. Everyday I woke up and thought, “Oh God, these people again.” And it’s funny because now I’ve hung out with all the people on Kinetic, you know, post everyone being fired and everyone is just so much fun and we just have the best time. But during the task I actually thought that all these people were just not fun, like, you guys suck.
