Alec Baldwin to Guest Star on Thursday's 'Celebrity Apprentice'
Alec Baldwin is the the greatest Baldwin we've ever known.  And, frankly, it's not even close.  He's had the best career, is the most talented, had the highest profile marriage (to Kim Basinger), never had a drug problem (seemingly every other Baldwin did), and is still chugging along, currently one of the stars of the great 30 Rock.  There is no reason for a star like Alec Baldwin, then, to slum it on a series like The Apprentice, even if it is a Celebrity Edition.  However, Alec will be a guest star on The Celebrity Apprentice this Thursday, and there are two distinct reasons: 1) 30 Rock and The Apprentice are both on NBC and, 2) his little brother Stephen Baldwin is a contestant on the show.  You've got to support your family, right?

Also guest starring on Thursday's episode will be Jim Cramer, financial guru and host of MSNBC's Mad Money with Jim Cramer.  Now, I don't know much of anything about money and stocks and whatnot, but every time I've seen Jim Cramer on TV he's seemed like a bona fide crazy person.  Haven't we got past the point on television where people make manual sound effects to punctuate whatever point their making?  Regardless, people seem to like this Cramer fellow.  He's going to act as a guest judge for the episode.

The task for the episode goes like this: each team is given a trailer and their own personal graphic designer and must create a mobile Kodak printing station, whatever that is.  The press release states that Stephen calls in a favor from brother Alec, hence his appearance, but I doubt Alec is a master of graphic design, so it's hard to tell what Alec's “favor” will be.  I'm guessing “contrived.”  If you've seen the previews, you know the other big twist – Trump asks one of the men to come onto the Empresario team and lead the ladies.  Guess who volunteers?  The immortal Gene Simmons, of course.

Say what you will about the Celebrity Apprentice, but you have to admit it's fun to watch.  It may be kind of a train wreck, but what a glorious wreck it is.
