The Amazing Race 13: Analyzing Mark and Bill
Mark and Bill are the “nerds” on The Amazing Race 13The Amazing Race hasn't featured a bevy of “nerds” or “geeks” over the years.  Maybe they don't like to travel very much.  Maybe I'm overly generalizing a certain subset of society.  Mark and Bill will likely be one of the teams that the general public rallies behind once The Amazing Race begins at the end of the month.  They are a couple of older guys, smart as hell, but perhaps not the most impressive physical specimens the race has ever seen.  In keeping with our in-depth Amazing Race team reports, I give you Mark and Bill:

Occupations:
Mark is the Treasurer for the San Diego Comic-Con, an important and enviable occupation for the self-proclaimed nerds and geeks of the world.  Bill is a Student Aid Administrator.  Both men live in San Diego.

Recent Team They're Similar To:
I'm going to go with Erwin and Godwin, the very nerdy brothers from The Amazing Race 10

Relationship
: Long-time friends

Chances to Win:  All-male teams have a long history of success on The Amazing Race, but I'm not really liking Mark and Bill's chances.  They're both in their early forties, which is above the peak racing age, and neither are in very good shape.

Initial Thoughts:  There is no video for Mark and Bill, which is somewhat mysterious.  Perhaps they were added to the cast very late into the game.  The duo met over twenty years ago at a science fiction club, and have been great friends ever since.  Mark is the more out-going of the two, and has partaken in a lot of adventure traveling.  Bill is more introverted, shy, but the friendship is strong and should get both of them through the race without incident.  CBS is touting Mark and Bill as extremely smart humans, so that could get them far, but I fear their physical limitations will hold them up in the end.
