Nicolas Fulks and Donald Jerousek appear together as one of the contestant pairs in the 12th season of the Emmy Award-winning CBS competitive reality television series The Amazing Race. They are a grandfather and grandson duo, with the elder Donald hailing from Elkhorn, WI while the younger Nicolas comes from Chicago, IL. Donald is 68 years old and retired, while Nicolas is 23 years old and just starting out as a pilot. He began studying aviation when he was just 17 years old at the University of Illinois, and presently has a job as an airline pilot operating out of San Juan.
Nicolas has stated that he himself is competitive and reliable, with a slight funny streak, while his grandfather is a bit more irascible and unlikely to tolerate people who don’t listen to his aged advice. The two of them think that one advantage they have is the knowledge of traveling that Nicolas possesses. On the other hand, Donald has been married for more than 40 years and is the father of two children. The older grandfather claims to be a jack of all trades as well as rich in canny street smarts, while his younger companion is adept at reading maps and making sense of computers.
