Peter Coyote was born on October 10, 1941 in Clover, Pennsylvania. He graduated Grinnell College with a degree in English Literature. He also pursued a degree in creative writing at San Francisco State University. He first starred in the movie Timerider: The Adventure of Lyle Swan. This established actor was included in more than 70 movies. Aside from being an actor, he was also a notable narrator, writer and illustrator. At present, he portrays Dennis Ryland in the science fiction series The 4400. Dennis Ryland is the former director of NTAC. He is responsible for getting the 4400's released from quarantine. Eventually, he oversees the investigation of the disease afflicting the 4400. Later, it becomes clear that Ryland is the mastermind behind the 4400's illness.
