Julie Berry Biography:
Julie Berry was born on December 15, 1980 in Lewiston, Maine. She was adopted at the age of 5, and spent the rest of her childhood in Gorham, Maine. She attended East Carolina University, from where she earned her degree in Family and Community Development and a minor in Psychology. She was part of the National Exchange Student Program during her third year in college, which made it possible for her to study at California State University at Northridge. Because she is of Native American descent, Berry is affiliated with the East Carolina Native American Organization. She was formerly employed as a behavorial interventionist for troubled children and has been reunited with her biological sister, whom she had not seen since she was adopted.
As a contestant on Survivor: Vanuatu, Berry made it far in the competition, having survived 13 eliminations and becoming an integral part of the merged tribe, Alinta. Originally one of the younger women in the all-female tribe, Yasur, Berry found herself cornered and eliminated when the two older female tribe members,
Scout and
Twila , and the remaining male member,
Chris, joined forces during the 13th tribal council. Berry was the 14th contestant to be sent home from the island.
