She attended Grambling College on a track scholarship and received a degree in Mass Communications. While residing in New Orleans, she became one of the thousands of people who lost their homes when Hurricane Katrina hit. As a result, Erica had to relocate to Lake Charles, and eventually ended up at Baton Rouge. Despite the tragedy, Erica has strived hard to become a youth market director and manager of various fundraisers. She became one of the Ravu tribe members in Survivor: Fiji, but was unfortunately voted out by her fellow Ravu tribe members after panicking greatly during an Immunity Challenge, which led to the tribe's defeat.
