Supernatural is gearing up for the end of season 7, and that involves adding a new character to the mix. According to EOnline, the show is casting a new character who will appear in the final three episodes of the season, which makes it a safe bet that they'll be important and possibly play into the endgame of the Leviathan storyline.

The role, which can be either gender, will be an Asian teen who discovers that he or she is some type of prophet.

That's all we know for now, but any time the word "prophet" is used in the context of Supernatural, my brain goes to one place: Chuck Shurley. Is this new character a new version of Chuck, getting visions of the future? Or is this new character God, perhaps because God got tired of being in Chuck Shurley (assuming he was God, which I do)?

On the other hand, given the prominence of the Leviathans this season, maybe this Asian teen is the latest Leviathan. Maybe the Leviathan Boss inside Dick Roman wants a change of scenery.

Whatever the case, a new character being brought in for the final three episodes of this season can't be good. Looking back on past seasons, I'm reminded of Jake Talley or Lilith, characters who showed up at the end of a season to cause serious trouble for Sam and Dean.

It will also be interesting to see who they cast. Since the CW is fond of reusing the same actors, my vote goes to Malese Jow, who played Anna on The Vampire Diaries (the actress is half Chinese-American).

What do you think of this new Asian prophet character showing up for the end of season 7?

Supernatural returns with new episodes Friday, March 15 at 9pm on the CW.
