Let's quickly recap last night's performance show, shall we? Cat Deeley danced with the contestants at the opening of the show, Adam Shankman said the word "balls" on TV, and Nigel Lythgoe referred to this show as "American Idol" in the ultimate Freudian slip. Oh yeah, and there was some dancing, too. Which brings us to tonight. Tonight, two contestants will be sent home, leaving only four contestants to battle it out next week. Let's see who will be saying their farewells...
The show opens with a whimsical dance routine (choreographed by Mia Michaels) that reminds me of the Mad Hatter's Wonderland tea party...if the Mad Hatter had black-and-white MC Hammer Pants. Even better than this dance is Cat Deeley's announcement that
Lauren Froderman is fine. Cue collective sigh of relief.
Anyway, on to the results...
Kent Boyd is...SAFE
Jose Ruiz is...IN THE BOTTOM 3
I'm not surprised, and I know none of you are either. Kent is an amazing dancer. Jose--as I've said before--pales in comparison to whoever he's partnered with, whether it's a fellow contestant or an all-star.
Billy Bell is...IN THE BOTTOM 3
Adechike Torbert is...SAFE...AND I AM CONFUSED. I just don't understand you, voters. Maybe we didn't watch the same show last night. Or maybe you have a thing against homeless people...
Robert Roldan is...SAFE
Lauren Froderman is...IN THE BOTTOM 3
WHOA. THIS IS CLEARLY A NIGHT FOR ALL CAPS TYPING. Did that just happen? I am thrilled for Robert, but this is Lauren's first time in the Bottom 3. While I know there's no way she's being sent home tonight, I'm still shocked.
SolosJose RuizSame old story...with a few additional floor spins. Jose may be talented at B-Boying, but versatility has never been his strong suit.
Billy BellIf Pinocchio turned into a real boy and became a sick dancer, his solo would look just like this. I love you, Billy Bell. I already feel my heart breaking into tiny pieces.
Lauren FrodermanLauren is amazing, though I think she moves just a weee bit too quickly for this song. But what does my opinion matter? I'm pretty sure it's the judges' opinion that matters, and they won't be sending her home tonight.
And now the judges' decision...
JOSE RUIZ AND BILLY BELL ARE ELIMINATED
So there you have it. Robert, Kent, Lauren, and Adechike are the final four. From here on out, it will be the voters at home--and not the judges--deciding their fate. Just don't screw it up, America, mmmkay?
