This morning the Emmy nominations were announced, and the Outstanding Choreography category is full of So You Think You Can Dance stars.

From the show itself, Mia Michaels and Stacey Tookey both earned nominations for routines from seasons 5 and 6. Meanwhile, Adam Shankman was also nominated for his choreography of the Academy Awards and former contestant Chelsie Hightower is nominated along with Derek Hough for a paso doble they did on Dancing with the Stars.

Ironically, the dance I most love from the nominees is the only one with no SYTYCD stars: Derek Hough's futuristic paso doble from season 9 of DWTS.

rm-veggie.jpgFrom SYTYCD, here are the dances nominated to refresh your memory. Sadly, the most deserving two dances, Tyce Diorio's "cancer dance" and Nappy Tab's "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" routine aren't nominated.

rm-veggie.jpgMia Michaels: She was nominated for a trio of performances, all from season 5. First was her version of the Broadway hit "One" performed by the Top 8 on the 100th episode (you remember, the one with Katie Holmes). The second dance was from the Top 16 between Randi Evans and Evan Kasprzak and is best remembered as the "butt dance" for the way Evan was obsessed with Randi's butt in the choreography. The final dance was the memorable "Addiction" routine between Kopono Aweau and Kayla Radomski.

Stacey Tookey: The "Fear" routine from season 6, danced by Kathryn McCormick and Legacy Perez during the Top 18 week to Patti LaBelle's "2 Steps Away." Ironically, when we first reviewed this dance, Abbey Simmons pointed out that it was eerily similar to the "Addiction" dance that was also nominated.

SYTYCD_Kathryn-Legacy_Contemporary_0009.jpgSo which judge will win, Mia or Adam? Or can Stacey Tookey take the prize? Or should SYTYCD just give up and let Derek Hough win?
