
Aside from his standup comedy work, Mario Cantone was noted for his recurring role on HBO's
Sex and the City. He played Anthony Marentino, the event planner who became a close friend of Charlotte's (
Kristin Davis) after styling her first wedding to Dr. Trey MacDougal (Kyle MacLachlan). He added comic relief to the series with his fast-paced and energetic humor, often giving bawdy advice to the conservative Charlotte. Although the series has already concluded, the 47-year-old actor remains in the limelight with his upcoming comedy endeavors.

Three Days to Vegas. Cantone has just completed filming this romantic comedy about four grumpy old men who embark on a road trip to stop one of their daughters from marrying the wrong guy, consequently seeking excitement in Las Vegas and breaking away from their retired life in Florida. Expected for release this year, the cast also includes Rip Torn, Peter Falk, and Billy Burke among others.
Moreover, the
Sex and the City actor is currently working on the animated movie
Bolt. Cantone provides the voice of Cat in an adventure story about a German Shepherd who has lived his whole life on the set of his action TV show, believing that he has superpowers. The film also includes a star-studded cast, including John Travolta, Bernie Mac and Woody Harrelson, and is scheduled to hit the theaters on November 26, 2008.
Searching for Bobby D, The Last Request and
Staten Island were just several of Mario Cantone's acting gigs following his stint on
Sex and the City. His most recent endeavors included a recurring role on
Men in Trees and
Surf's Up, where he provided the voice of Mikey Abromowitz.
