NBC announced this week that veteran Saturday Night Live actor and comedian Will Forte is leaving the show to pursue other projects.

In honor of his eight seasons on the show, here are just a few of our favorite Forte moments. Good luck on the big screen, Will! (If that's where you're headed.) When Saturday night rolls around and we turn on our TVs at 11:30pm, you'll be missed.

Our favorite Forte sketches inexcusably absent from Hulu's SNL archive:

Spelling Bee: In an sketch featuring the music of Tenacious D, Will Forte played a kid in a spelling bee who gets the word "Business." He then spends about two very funny minutes spelling it: "b-r-d-t-f-k-l-m-g-h-r-k-w-t-f-n-y-l-k-p-q-w-q-r-t-d-f-p-l-m-k-q-k-w-q-q-q-q-q-q-q-q-q-q-q-q-s-t-f-j-r-q-m-t-s-d-t-q-m-p-r-f-t-d-p-d-p-m-h-r-k-t-b-t-f. Business." You can at least LOL at the audio here.

Black History Month: On Weekend Update Will Forte was left to talk about Black History Month in a brilliantly awkward way, such as when he praised such great black hip-hop acts as Eminem and Luther Vandross.

Zell Miller: Perhaps my favorite Will Forte impression was as the angry congressman Zell Miller on multiple Hardball sketches where Forte got red in the face, literally, yelling and threatening to duel Chris Matthews.

Some of our favorite Forte moments you can see for yourself:

Sen. Tim Calhoun: In just one of his many appearances on Weekend Update, the soft-spoken independent presidential candidate and "crystal meth enthusiast" with the crazy hands tells America why he deserves their votes and espouses his unique perspectives on gay marriage, personal hygiene and "cow college."

MacGruber: Perhaps Forte's best known character, MacGruber took his offensive and ignorant bomb diffusion tactics to a whole new level in this sketch with Charles Barkley.

Close Talkers:
Steve Martin and Will Forte almost kiss. And then it gets really funny.

Potato Chips: An extended exercise in absurdity allows Forte to do one of the things he does best: Yell about nonsense until he's red in the face. Despite Blake Lively's active attempts to ruin it with her "acting," Forte's screaming in an insane accent saves the scene.

Will's "Women's Herstory" Song: Will pitches an educational Women's History Month song to America's schools that outlines the big accomplishments of famous women, like "Nancy Pelosi, government" and "Emily Dickinson, books."

What are your favorite Will Forte moments? Will you miss him when Saturday Night Live returns in September? Maybe the news of Jane Lynch's hosting will help ease your pain.
