Following Cory Monteith, another young star of a current hit TV series has died. Lee Thompson Young, who stars as Detective Barry Frost on TNT's Rizzoli and Isles, has died at the age of 29. According to TMZ, it is a possible suicide.

The site says that after he didn't show up on the set, staffers called Young's landlord who checked on him and found Young dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Young first came to prominence as a child actor starring on Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson in the title role. More recently he had recurring roles as an FBI agent on FlashForward, a surgeon on Scrubs and as Cyborg, one of the members of the Justice League on Smallville.

Young currently appears on TNT's high-rated Rizzoli and Isles, which is in the middle of its fourth season Tuesdays at 9pm. The drama was recently renewed for a fifth season.

Here is the official statement about Young's death from TNT, Warner Bros. and the creator of Rizzoli and Isles:

"Everyone at Rizzoli & Isles is devastated by the news of the passing of Lee Thompson Young. We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man. He was truly a member of our family. Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to his family, to his friends and, most especially, to his beloved mother.".
