Real World/ Road Rules Challenge: Gauntlet III just recently premiered on MTV, but cast member
Johanna Botta is already busy preparing for another intense and grueling competition.
Apparently, she will be one of the lovely contestants on the upcoming Miss Peru Universe, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 16. Botta made the announcement on both her MySpace and iamonmtv.com blogs.
“I am writing this blog to officially let everyone know that I am competing in the Miss Peru Universe 2008 Pageant taking place in Lima, Peru,” Botta wrote on her MySpace. “I will be representing all Peruvians living in the United States as Miss Peru USA. I am very happy and honored to have this chance to represent the thousands of Peruvians residing in the US. I am working very closely with L4TC as my platform charity. I look forward to helping many in Peru with this great organization.”
Currently, Johanna Botta is living in Peru, but has taken the time to watch the
Gauntlet III episodes online. On the show, Botta is part of the “rookies” team, having previously appeared in less than two seasons of
Road Rules Challenge. Her team hasn't been faring well in the mission challenges, with the “veterans” winning most of the challenges so far.
In the most recent episode of
Gauntlet III,
Brooke LaBarbara, also of the rookie team and notorious for her temper, took out her frustration on Johanna Botta, calling her a “bitch.” Botta said in her iamonmtv.com blog that the fight that viewers saw was tamer than what actually happened.
“The fight with Brooke was a little more intense than what they showed but I'm not complaining,” she wrote. “I don't really care if she called me a bitch, people say things in the heat of the moment, I hope that was her case and if it wasn't then oh well.”
LaBarbara had become upset when Botta and the rest of the rookie team were doubtful about her performance on the “Wring Out” challenge, which required the teams to put on clothes and jump into the ocean, hang the wet clothes on a clothesline and wring out as much water as possible into a bucket. LaBarbara had insisted on becoming a “soaker,” but when the team protested, she unleashed her fury on Botta.
“I wanted everyone to understand that I was looking out for the best interest of the team,” Botta explained, “and it wasn't an appropriate time for Brooke to prove herself [especially when we had very good runners already] we had too much on the line.”
Ultimately, the veterans won the challenge, and decided to send teammate
Jillian Zoboroski to the gauntlet. Zoboroski then chose to go against LaBarbara, who lost and was consequently sent home.
Do you think Johanna has what it takes to win Miss Peru?
