keeps up with the spooky and creepy antics tonight. Last week
, the car filled with all the main characters careened off of a bridge at Miranda's pull of the steering wheel. She sees an incredibly creepy something that forces her to do this and we learn a little more about that thus far. Tonight we discover that the car crash over the bridge was fatal for one, that many of the characters have secrets of their own, and that everyone is still learning how to act.
The Kids Are All Right... Almost
Four of the kids are in the hospital, alive and well, after the car crash in the river. Remy and Caleb argue about who turned the steering wheel and why they all ended up in the river. Meanwhile, Miranda is coding, none of the doctors think to defibrillate her, and she dies. I definitely thought this was going to be a dream sequence, but nope. She's dead now.
The only one really shaken up about it is Caleb, who yells at the phlebotomist who's trying to take Remy's blood. ABC Family takes the tragedy to remind us to tweet #PoorCaleb at this point. All of the parents arrive, except for Caleb the foster child (#PoorCaleb) and they seem more concerned that Remy and Luke were together, rather than the fact that their only children almost died. The Chief of Police is also there and adds nothing to the story.
Caleb goes to the morgue to find Miranda's body because apparently unaccompanied minors are allowed to do this. The doctor feels sorry for him and let's him chill there while he grabs a tuna sandwich (to split!). Spooky bangs and weird sounds come on while Caleb is in the morgue. Collins arrives (#CreepyCollins) to collect the body. She died, like, 30 minutes ago. Give a girl a minute, CreepyCollins. Anyway, he doesn't seem very distraught and ultimately invites Caleb to stay at his house for awhile. He shoots Luke and Olivia's mom a significant (foreshadowing) look as they all pile in the hearse.
All the kids are at home with their families. Remy's father is mad. Mom is mad at Dad. Remy is sad. Luke and Olivia almost died, but their mom is happy to report that Olivia has been voted Homecoming Queen! Lucky day!
Remy and Luke rekindle their love after both almost dying. He goes to her house and throws pebbles at her window and everything. Romance isn't dead, just the weird new girl in town!
Caleb has a sort of dream about Miranda who warns him to get her bag out of Remy's trunk. Carla is there when he awakens and nods knowingly about his "dream." A book falls to the ground of its own accord, begging to be read aloud. Caleb obliges and the recitation shakes everything in the house. The mirror in his room shatters all around him, but leaves him completely unscathed, save the seven years of bad luck.
Caleb talks with Remy the next day and they agree to go to the junk yard to get dead Miranda's bag out of Remy's dead car. He heads to a coffee shop to wait out the day, where he is approached by the Chief of Police who wants to know more about the accident. He thinks Miranda had "emotional problems" and that Caleb should go back to Rosewood (aka Pretty Little Liars town), because he doesn't realize Caleb got his own show called Ravenswood.
The Mayor's Kids
Luke suspects that his mom was having an affair (#CreepyCollins?) before their mayor dad was murdered. He shares his theory with Olivia who tears up the letter from which Luke gleaned his suspicions. She has a throne to sit on, after all.
She arrives at school and has weird interactions with her seemingly shady friend and boyfriend. She later finds out that this best friend (do they ever say her name?) is going out with Springer, the bully who likely threw paint all over Olivia during the parade. Olivia is betrayed and realizes the burden of her crown (aka bedazzled headband).
Luke is lifting weights alone when the lights go out and the bar falls on his neck, attempting to choke him. Olivia's boyfriend walks in, turning on the light and is essentially "hey bro, why are you lifting in the dark?" instead of realizing that Luke is having trouble getting the weight off of his neck.
Later at the Junkyard
Remy is still investigating the story that whenever a soldier comes home, five teens are killed. She shares this with Caleb after they break into the junkyard and are chased by a scary German Shepherd who Caleb locks in a car. She and Caleb are wondering what this means since only Miranda died in the crash.
They find Remy's car and while Remy leans in, the windows go slowly squishing her stomach, and something lets the dog out of the van (never revealing who in fact, let the dogs out). Caleb saves Remy, who trips over nothing, forcing Luke, who shows up out of nowhere, to save Remy from the dog with his sweatshirt. He and Caleb shove each other around awhile, and Luke storms off with Remy.
Remy later sleepwalks into the middle of the street and almost gets hit by a car, but is saved at the last minute by her parents. That's three near death experiences in two days.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save you."
Caleb is back at the guesthouse where #CreepyCollins has now offered him to stay until the funeral. Caleb accepts and offers his condolences to him for the loss of his niece. This is actually a nice moment, so there's that.
Alone in his room, Caleb goes through Miranda's bag and reads the card her mother wrote her aloud. This summons Miranda's spirit and she and Caleb are able to have a good cry about the whole dying thing. Another sweet moment. Miranda thinks the spirit on the bridge is very real and is after the four of them she didn't kill the first time around. Dun dun dun.
Next week we attend Miranda's funeral and learn more about how her being a ghost in the show is really going to work!
Ravenswood airs on Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC Family.
