Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious Finale Reaction
Thursday, April 24, 2008

Throughout this season of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, we've gone over the Most and Least Girlicious after each episode. With last night's finale, we now know who actually IS Girlicious, so there's no longer any debate. Tiffanie, Nichole, Natalie and Chrystina will be the new group and will be making their attempt to conquer the pop world.

All season long, we've heard that the girls on the show were vying for a spot in the trio, and the strongest three had seemed somewhat clear over recent weeks. So the last minute switch to include all four of the girls was the twist to the ending of Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. Was it a happy ending for the viewers?

Your Take

At first, I thought there would be more irritation on the part of the viewers to this twist. The girl who seems to have struggled the most of the final five contestants, Chrystina, was given a chance to join the group when others had been eliminated for similar flaws.

After all, while other selected girls might have had an attitude problem here or there, or had some weaknesses with performing once or twice, she's seemed on shaky ground the entire time. She's had trouble memorizing lyrics, balked at working with girls who intimidated her, and sulked when she was placed in the bottom two.

However, she did seem to pull herself together at the last minute, and maybe that's why there wasn't more of a negative reaction to the idea that one of the weaker girls would be given a spot in the group.

Or else maybe it's because when the twist isn't an elimination but just an additional opportunity, there are less disappointed fans. After all, even if you didn't love Chrystina, it's unlikely you disliked her so much that you would begrudge her the chance to make it with the group. And if you did grow to like her during her time on Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, then Robin Antin has kept you as a potential fan of the group.  So maybe the judges made the right call after all in giving the group even more Girliciousness.

So now with the roster of the girls set, the big question is: will people buy it?

Will you buy Girlicious, the group?
I watched the show but I'll never buy the music.
Didn't like the single, but keeping an open mind.
Loved the show, love the single, love it all!
