ABC's Pushing Daisies: Meet the Cast

ABC has ordered 13 episodes of Bryan Fuller’s unprecedented romance-crime drama called Pushing Daisies. Officially picked up for the network’s fall 2007 lineup, the upcoming series will be leading off the Wednesday night slot at 8/7c.

Pushing Daisies follows a pie maker named Ned with the ability to touch dead things and briefly bring them back to life. Putting his expertise into good news, he helps an investigator to resolve murder cases by asking the deceased to name their killers. However, his gift becomes complicated when he brings his childhood sweetheart Chuck back from the dead, and struggles to keep her alive by not touching her again.

Actor Lee Pace portrays Ned, the main character of the series. He is best known for his role as Calpernia Addams in the 2003 Showtime movie Soldier's Girl. He has also appeared on shows like Wonderfalls and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Anna Friel, a 30-year old English actress is best known for her work on Brookside, Goal! and Me Without You. She plays Charlotte “Chuck” Charles, Ned’s childhood sweetheart on Pushing Daisies.

Chi McBride, actor notable for his roles on Boston Public and The Nine, plays Emerson Cod, an ex-cop and Ned’s business partner. His other film credits include Undercover Brother, Cradle 2 the Grave, The Terminal and Dancing in September.

Swoosie Kurtz, who plays Lily, Chuck’s solitary one-eyed aunt, has worked in films like The Rules of Attraction, Duplex, Bubble Boy, Get Over It and The White River Kid.

Tony Award-winning Kristin Chenoweth plays Olive, Ned’s neighbor who works as a waitress. Previously, she has appeared on Ugly Betty, The West Wing and The Music Man.

And last but not the least, Jim Dale, a 71-year old English actor, is best known for his work in the Carry On films. He serves as the narrator of Pushing Daisies.
