It's been nearly six months since we last saw Shawn, Gus, and the rest of the cast of
Psych but something tells me that tonight's season four opener is worth the wait. For a change, the crime-comedy series kicks off with a different backdrop while our heroic duo tries to kick back and relax before getting themselves in a cat-and-mouse chase with a Thomas Crown-like criminal.
The humor-filled misadventures of Shawn and Gus continue with the episode entitled "Extradition: British Columbia," in which our fake psychic tandem head off to Canada to enjoy the ski vacation Shawn (James Roday) booked on Gus' (Dule Hill) credit card. Of course, their holiday retreat is not without some mind-twisting mysteries.
While in Canada, Shawn and Gus spot Peirre Despereux (played by Cary Elwes of
The Princess Bride fame), an art thief whom Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) has been trying to arrest for years. Shawn immediately informs Lassiter, who then tags Julie along to the scene, brining most of the cast to the fold as they try to catch Despereux and find out his next target. However, Shawn and Gus' frustration escalates as Despereux proves to be a great challenge.
Last time on
Psych, we witnessed Shawn as he tried to solve the case of the famed Yin Yang serial killer, who turned herself in but not before telling Shawn that they'll be working together again. We also saw a stunned Shawn as he turned down Jules (Maggie Lawson) for a date with Abigail.
Though it seems like Shawn is finally ready to take things seriously with Abigail after 13 years of making her wait, fans won't see Rachael Leigh Cook in the first episode of
Psych's fourth season. However, it appears that Shawn and Abigail are still dating and this will likely affect his relationship with Gus, and most especially Jules.
