'Psych' Holiday Episode Preview and Spoilers
Although USA Network's Psych is scheduled to resume its second season in January, fans will be delighted to know that the cable channel is airing a special holiday episode tonight.

According to the show's website, the episode, “Gus' Dad May Have Killed an Old Guy,” has the Guster family gathering for the holiday season.  However, the joyous occasion hits a snag when police tie Gus' (Dule Hill) father (guest star Ernie Hudson) to a murder case.

Phylicia Rashad (The Cosby Show) guest appears as Gus' mother.

Those who want to know what else happens in Psych's holiday episode, read on for spoilers.

According to Blender Television, the man who is murdered is the Gusters' next-door-neighbor.  Shawn (James Roday) and Gus, who return to their old neighborhood to have dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Guster, come across the man's lifeless body while they are out caroling with Gus' parents.

After the police question Mr. Guster, they believe that there is enough evidence to arrest him for the murder.  Naturally, this upsets Gus, so he and Shawn set out to find the real culprit.

Meanwhile, Juliet (Maggie Lawson) invites Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) to her family's house. However, Lassiter ends up causing problems at the O'Hara house when he fails to blend in and go with the flow.

Also in this episode, it is revealed that Mr. and Mrs. Guster don't think too highly of Shawn.  They express their desire to see Gus doing something more than just selling pharmaceuticals and helping Shawn with his faux psychic detective work.

Corbin Bernsen also stars as Henry Spencer.  According to E! Online, Henry keeps Shawn and Gus in check “by being his usual hilarious self.”

After Psych's holiday episode airs tonight, fans will have to wait a few more weeks before they can catch the remaining six episodes of the show's second season.  After that batch airs, fans can look forward to a 16-episode third season, to be broadcasted next summer.

Catch Psych's holiday episode tonight at 10/9c on the USA Network.
