Project Runway's Tim Gunn Lands a New Job
Tim Gunn, fashion designer and Project Runway guru has now landed a spot with Liz Claiborne Inc. After spending more than two decades at Parsons The New School or Design in New York City, he landed a new job as a chief creative officer.

Gunn, popularly known for his inclusion on the reality design show Project Runway as a mentor to the contestants, served as chair of Parson's Department of Fashion Design since 2000. Previously, he was also the department’s associate dean since 1989.

Moreover, he openly expresses his views on his newly found job. He says, "Though this is not something I had envisioned for myself, I jumped at the chance to serve as a mentor, advisor and sounding board for the design and merchandising community within Liz Claiborne Inc…The talent that currently exists at Liz is phenomenal and I am up to the challenge of harnessing and focusing such strength."

Gunn’s position in Liz Claiborne gives him the opportunity to develop creative talent within the portfolio of brands in the company, which consists of women’s and men's apparel, accessories and fragrance products.

In turn, his new family also expresses their optimistic views on having Gunn onboard. "Words cannot express how happy we are to have Tim on board as our 'Creative Dean,'" says William L. McComb, Liz Claiborne's chief executive officer.
