Take the BuddyTV Personality Quiz: Which Prison Break Character Are You? Robin Tunney's versatility has not only landed her roles alongside such actors as Michael Douglas, and Ed Harris, but has also made her a "treasured jewel" in the independent film world. With each edgy, powerful, comedic and sometimes quirky performance, she is defining herself as one of Hollywood's leading young actresses. One of Tunney's most challenging roles was that of "Marcy," a young woman with Tourette Syndrome, in Bob Gosse's critically acclaimed film "Niagara, Niagara." Her performance earned her the Best Actress-Cuppa Volpe at the 1997 Venice Film Festival, as well as a 1999 Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Female Lead. She portrays Veronica Donovan in the Fox series Prison Break.
Despite dating youthful offender Lincoln Burrows all throughout high school, Veronica Donovan never let the street life of Cicero, Illinois seduce her. An over-achiever, she received a full academic scholarship to the University of Illinois in Champaign where she graduated with a B.A. in political science, then went on to earn her juris doctorate from Baylor Law School. Although she had no experience in criminal law, she recently defended childhood friend Michael Scofield against a charge of armed robbery after he refused the assistance of all court appointed attorneys. Donovan is currently working with Nick Savrinn in an attempt to exonerate Lincoln Burrows of first degree murder charges.
