Painkiller Jane, one of SCI FI’s latest series, has not yet fruitfully live up to the expectations of science fiction fans as compared to Stargate SG-1 and Battlestar Galactica ratings. And although the fate of the series is too early to predict at this point, the SciFi network has deiced to fortify its overall marketing campaign by tapping the world of wireless technology.

For the unfamiliar, SCI FI’s Painkiller Jane has made its premiere on Friday, April 13. Based on the comic book character of the same name, the television series features Kristanna Loken as Jane Vasco, also known as Painkiller Jane, the show’s protagonist, as she discovers her superhuman abilities and supernormal recuperative powers. The cast also includes Alaina Huffman as Maureen Bowers, Rob Stewart as Andre McBride, Noah Danby as Connor King, Stephen Lobo as Dr. Seth Carpenter, Melanie Papalia as Amanda Worth, Sean Owen Roberts as Riley Jensen and Nathaniel Deveaux as Joe Waterman.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

With the positive results of prior mobile marketing efforts of Who Wants to Be A Superhero? and Battlestar Galactica, Painkiller Jane attempts to attain the same kind of success. With SCI FI’s WAP (wireless application protocol) approach, fans will have the opportunity to acquire Painkiller Jane content directly and exclusively, allowing them for a richer and more interactive real-time mobile experience via handheld devices such as blackberries and video-enabled mobile phones. In addition, downloadable ring tones and wallpaper will also be available free of charge.

"With the launch of SCI FI Mobile, the Channel takes another leap forward in creating an innovative and interactive programming environment that our audiences have come to expect from us," said Adam Stotsky, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Creative, SCI FI Channel. "We felt that Painkiller Jane, with its built-in fan base, would be the perfect franchise opportunity to develop a truly multi-platform content experience."

Catch Painkiller Jane every Friday 10/9 C on SCI FI.
