One Tree Hill: Episode 6.8 "Our Life is Not a Movie or Maybe" Recap (Page 1/3)

Last week's episode of One Tree Hill taught us that adopting a wayward teenager isn't as easy as adopting a new hairstyle.  Brooke's first days living with Sam were more difficult than she expected thanks to the teen's desire to sneak out at night.  While the battle raged on in Brooke's household, Lucas and Peyton indulged in their own domestic wars.  Peyton worried that things would change between them after they moved in together, but everything was fine once they stopped paying attention to B. Davis magazine.  Aside from that drama, Jamie dealt with a bully at school, Mouth got his old job back, and Haley rocked out at the waterfront.

Tonight on One Tree Hill, a hotshot movie producer comes to town with the plan to turn An Unkindness of Ravens into a major motion picture.  He also has an interesting secret that's bound to stir up some drama.

One Tree Hill kicks off with Nathan (James Lafferty) getting slammed in the middle of a Slamball game.  While Brooke screams criticisms at Owen from the sidelines, Jamie and Sam get to know each other.  Sam usually gets on my nerves, but watching Jamie explain the local love connections to her is pretty amusing.  Jamie also drops a hint that his daddy thinks he's old enough to date, so maybe this will turn into a whole Nate and Jenny situation.  If that reference makes no sense to you, you must have missed the final scene of Gossip Girl before this episode began.

Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) gets a call from his agent, who lets him know that someone wants to make An Unkindness of Ravens into a movie.  The next day, a movie producer named Julian Morris shows up to talk to him about the idea.  He even drops a reference to Peyton's stalker, proving that he's studied up on the material.  Julian asks Lucas to think things over and meet him for drinks later if he wants to discuss the film.  The guy praises Lucas so much that I'm not sure if he's hitting on him or trying to make a movie, but either way it should be interesting.

Nathan is sore from the game the next day, but at least he's not paralyzed again.  He is bruised pretty badly, which gives Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) doubts about the Slamball shenanigans.  Lucas visits his brother to talk about the movie, and Nathan already has a list of actors who should play him on the big screen.  One of his picks is Shia LaBeouf, who Lucas thinks is a bit old to play a high-schooler.  This allows Nate to make a meta joke about old guys playing high school students, which is my favorite line since the Gossip Girl shout-out a couple weeks ago.
