When
My Name is Earl premiered in 2005, it attracted 14.9 million viewers in the United States, earning a 6.6 rating. By the airing of the third episode, it was apparent that the sitcom was one of NBC's highest rated new fall offerings. Thus, a second full season was ordered. Now, in its fourth season, the show continues to humor fans with its colorful characters and Earl's quest for self-betterment, all while sustaining favorable numbers. And while the cast and crew have certainly worked hard to deliver such a hit show, lead star Jason can't help but feel that's probably because of good karma.
“We work very hard at this show and everyone on the show treats everybody with respect and like a family. And so far, we've been able to keep doing it. At the end of the day, as goofy and kind of ‘out there' as it can be, the characters are all likable and there really is a message and there really is a heart at the core of it. I think that's what keeps people coming back and watching. I guess that's a good example of karma,” Lee, who plays Earl, told
The Star-Telegram.
