Born on March 18, 1980 in London, Sophia Myles spent her first eleven years in Notting Hill, where she grew up with her mother, an educational publisher, and her father, a Angelican vicar. The family later relocated to Isleworth in London, where she started acting in school plays. At the age of 16, she was discovered by Oscar-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes in a school production. Following her meeting with Fellowes, she was cast for a couple of plays which eventually led her to develop a passion for acting. Myles' first major acting stint was for BBC's film, The Prince & The Pauper. Soon after its filming, she was offered numerous offers, including projects with movies such as Mansfield Park, From Hell, Underworld, Out of Bounds and Tristan and Isolde, where she played Isolde. In 2007, Myles was cast as a replacement for Shannon Lucio on the CBS television drama, Moonlight.
Beth Turner is played by Sophia Myles on Moonlight. Beth is a beautiful, ambitious reporter who was tasked to cover the unusual murders in her area. She caught the eyes of Mick, a vampire who uses his abilities to help uncover the mysteries of the crimes around the city. Beth has yet to find out his feelings for her, as they get closer to the truth behind the murders, and to each other.
