Warning: Spoilers ahead!!!

According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, Zahn will be joining the cast of Monk as lead star Tony Shalhoub's on-screen half brother, which he never knew existed.  The 40-year-old actor appears as Jack Monk Jr., a charming grifter who just escaped from prison and is the prime suspect in a murder.

In addition Monk, Zahn, whose credits include Tom Hanks' That Thing You Do!, National Security, Daddy Day Care, and Riding in Cars with Boys where he received his strongest critical acclaim for his portrayal of Drew Barrymore's on-screen dim-witted, drug addicted husband, has also been cast in upcoming films such as Calvin Marshall, Night Train, A Perfect Getaway and The Company Men.

In other Monk news, Emmy Award-winning actor Bradley Whitford has also signed on to appear in an episode of Monk entitled “"Mr. Monk on Wheels,” where he is slated to plat a brilliant, upbeat CEO of an R&D company.

Best known for his role as Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman on the NBC television drama The West Wing, which he began with the show's premiere in 1999, Whitford has extended his credits to film and Broadway with projects such as Bottle Shock and the theater production of A Few Good Men. Most recently, he was cast as Danny Tripp on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and in the TV mini-series Burn Up.
