Brooke Elizabeth Burns was born on March 16, 1978 in Dallas, Texas and she is the middle child of three siblings. She always wanted to be a ballet dancer since she was a child however, after a serious ski accident, Burns was unable to perform as well as she did prior to the accident. Her mother then sent her to do modeling as an alternative activity. When Burns was sixteen, she began to appear in European and American fashion magazines, and became a recognizable face while in high school. She then began to appear in commercials and later on was invited to audition for Out of the Blue, where she got cast for the film. After her success in the film, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional acting career. She initially did not get the role on Baywatch upon her audition, but was called back to fill a permanent role as Jessie Owens. This portrayal brought her more recognition. Up until she became pregnant with Julian McMahon's baby, she actively appeared on Baywatch and Baywatch Hawaii. In 2007 Burns returned to the television screen as she was cast for a role in Miss Guided, a new ABC series.

Lisa Germain is played by Brooke Burns on the television series Miss Guided. Lisa is a gorgeous woman who used to be a popular, smart and beautiful cheerleader in high school. Returning to her alma mater, she is an English teacher who casts her eyes on Tim, the Spanish teacher. Little does she know her former nemesis Becky, who is now a guidance councilor at the same school, is also in pursuit of Tim.
