Kat Von D recently appeared as a guest on Tom Green's online talk show, The Channel, in order to promote her new reality series, LA INK.  The 25-year-old tattoo artist also discussed her non-firing from Miami Ink, shared some stories about her tattoos and got herself inked by the Canadian comedian.

Von D's departure from Miami Ink was a result of her constant clashing with shop owner, Ami James.  She happily moved back to Los Angeles and recently opened her own tattoo shop, which will be the center of LA INK.

During her interview with Green, clips from both Miami Ink and its spin-off were shown, one of which was a preview to LA INK's premiere episode.  The preview showed Kat Von D giving actor Eric Balfour (The West Wing, The O.C., 24) a tattoo of a large skull with butterflies.  The clip is also available for viewing on the show's official website.

Kat Von D received her first tattoo when she was 14 years old.  Two years later, she started working at a local tattoo shop.  She has come a long way since then and has been deemed “The Queen of Portraits” for her tattooing style.  In the interview, Von D told Green that she keeps parts of her body open as a tattoo yearbook for her friends.  She then asked the comedian to give her a tattoo, and after deliberating on which part of the body the tattoo should be placed, Green inked the name “Logan” into Von D's left arm.

Towards the end of her interview with Green, Kat Von D apologized for not being more upbeat on the show, citing the long day she had doing press-related activities.  Green, in turn, apologized for immortalizing the name of the show's producer on her body.

Fans can catch more of their female tattoo artist when LA INK premieres on Tuesday, August 7 at 10pm on TLC.
