The fourth season of
Medium kicks off in January, with renowned actress Anjelica Huston appearing as a guest star. Show lead
Patricia Arquette only had good things to say about working alongside the 56-year-old Academy Award winner.
“It was really thrilling to work with her,” Arquette said of Huston, who will appear in six episodes of
Medium's new season, in response to a query posed by the Roanoke Times. “She is an amazing actress, and it was a really great experience to have her on set.”
Huston's multi-episode arc is not the only thing fans of
Medium can look forward to this season. Although the WGA strike has put the entire cast and crew out of work temporarily, Arquette said that viewers will be happy with this season, as the writers were able to draw up many “interesting twists” for the show.
Warning: may contain spoilers.
"Because of the writers strike, we really don't know when we will be going back to work. And funny enough, the Dubois family is finding themselves in a similar situation,” Arquette, who plays psychic Allison Dubois on the series, explained. “Having said that, our writers were up to their old tricks providing us with a lot of really interesting twists this season. I definitely think our audiences will not be disappointed.”
The show's fourth season opener, which airs on Monday, January 7, picks up where the previous season's finale left off. According to NBC, everyone's lives have been turned upside down with the revelation of Allison's psychic abilities. She begins to have disturbing dreams about a young boy who is kidnapped from a toy store while shopping with his father.
Allison is unable to turn to Devalos (
Miguel Sandoval) or Scanlon (
David Cubitt), so she has no other choice but to seek help from Ameritips, the company hired by the missing boy's family. She makes an unusual deal with Cynthia Keener (Huston), the company's intriguing investigator.
