Now that
LA Ink has finished airing its second season, and the furor over
Kat Von D's new romance with Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx is subsiding, Kat is busying herself with other projects, which she wrote about on her MySpace blog.
In her entry early last week, the
LA Ink star explained why she's been scarcely spotted in the city of angels in the previous weeks. She cited one project in particular, that's been the focus of her time, energy and resources for the past six months.
“I can't express enough how CRAZY these past few months have been,” Kat wrote on her MySpace page. “I feel like I haven't been able to keep as much contact with you guys as I'd like to, but a lot of that has to do with the many projects I have taken on; some that have been in the works for quite some time now.”
She went on to mention that for the last half year, she's been hard at work on her book with Harper Collins Publishing.
“This book is in no way a biography or anything,” the
LA Ink boss clarified. “My book can be best described as a pictorial timeline of my life thus far as an artist. My mother was amazing enough to save any and all of my drawings from when I was six years old to my first tattoo, to doodles I've done on napkins while talking on the phone! So I figured it would be cool to layout my life in an artistic form.”
Kat also mentions that the compilation will primarily be an art book, although there will be accompanying text portions.
“Although there will be actual text throughout the book (yes, reading is good, too!), it's prominently an art book - art in every medium from a 2 pencil to watercolor, charcoal, photography, oil paintings and every style of tattooing, not just from me, but from my heroes and mentors from all over,” Kat wrote on.
