LA Ink: Scott Ian Gets Tattoo of Guitar Hero

Scott-IanPart of the appeal of LA Ink – besides, of course, its talented and pin-up worthy tattoo artists – is that its location allows for even more celebrities to be featured getting their tattoos from the staff.

When the season was announced, the line-up of celebrities to be featured was also provided, and they include Jesse Metcalf from Desperate Housewives, rapper/actress Eve, and Scott Ian from Anthrax.

Scott's episode LA Ink is set to air this Tuesday, September 18, and we now know that the subject of his tattoo will be AC/DC guitarist Angus Young.
Angus Young, famous for his onstage schoolboy outfit and high-energy performances, has been with AC/DC since the Australian band formed in 1973.

Rolling Stone put him 96th on their list of Top 100 Rock Guitarists, but it would appear that Scott might disagree with that ranking. He has said in some of the previews for the episode that he when he was just starting out and finding his own style, he aped some of Young's onstage antics.

He said of his decision to get the tattoo, “Kat Von D is the best and her shop is called High Voltage, so who and where better to get a tattoo of Angus Young?!?!

LA Ink won't be Scott's first time on a reality program. He starred along with Ted Nugent, Evan Seinfeld, Sebastian Bach and Jason Bonham in the VH1 series Supergroup, in which the five rock veterans formed a new group – Damnocracy – and were challenged to write and produce new music and perform a live concert.

He was already familiar to VH1 viewers as he was host of the VH1 Rock Show and had appeared on numerous VH1 clip shows like 40 Greatest Metal Songs, 100 Most Metal Moments, 50 Least Metal moments, and several of the I Love The... series.

To see how his new tat turns out, tune into TLC tomorrow night at 10pm Eastern.
