Okay, it's not exactly earth-shattering news that
Kat Von D got a new tattoo.
And fans of the
LA Ink artist might also not be particularly surprised to hear it's a tattoo professing her affection for her new boyfriend…of only a month.
However, some celeb watchers found it ridiculous that she got such a permanent reminder of what is clearly a very new relationship. Those folks must not have met Ms Von D before.
Kat has spoken on several occasions about her feelings on tattoos and how they relate to the people in her life. m>LA Ink artist might also not be particularly surprised to hear it's a tattoo professing her affection for her new boyfriend…of only a month.
She said in that interview that she considers her body a “yearbook” for her friends, and so tries to keep parts of herself clear so that she'll have room when new friends come along.
Considering this, it's clear that her decision to have a new tattoo related to a new relationship has a very different implication for the
LA Ink artist than it did for, say, Heather, on
Rock of Love, who got Bret Michaels' name as her very first tattoo ever. And if for some reason this does turn out to be a yearbook entry she'd rather be without, no doubt this artist is well-positioned to creatively cover the ink.
And for those who missed the earlier news on her blog and BuddyTV, her new fella is Alexander Orbie Lee Kelton Orbison, son of Roy Orbison, and drummer for the band Whitestarr. That's right, the
LA Ink star's new boyfriend was featured on a reality show of his very own –
The Rock Life on VH1.
