Celebrities and performers have been lining up to get a tattoo from
Kat Von D at her tattoo shop High Voltage on
LA Ink. Names like Scott Ian from Anthrax, comedian Margaret Cho, Frank Iero from My Chemical Romance and Sebastian Bach from Skid Row, Supergroup and Celebrity Rap Superstar have all gone under her needle.
But her skills aren't only for the famous, and now Kat fans have the chance to win a tattoo of their own.
The
LA Ink star will be making an appearance at the Dunlop Tires booth at the SEMA Show this week, and one lucky convention-goer can win a Kat tat of his or her very own.
The SEMA show is a major event for the car industry, and its website states it's “the premier automotive specialty performance products trade event in the world featuring performance, accessories, restoration and motorsports products.”
This might seem to be a random tie-in, but not so. Dunlop has a history with tattoos, and the press release states that at past SEMA shows, “More than 50 true Dunlop devotees have received tattoos ranging from ‘Flying-D' logos to stylized tread patterns. Hundreds more were put on waiting lists.”
Therefore having Kat Von D pay a visit seemed like a great fit. Gary Medalis, the general manager for Dunlop Tires, said, "While we have successfully promoted our brand with tattoos at SEMA the past two years, we feel Kat Von D will drive excitement around Dunlop tattoos to an even higher level."
The event is taking place in Las Vegas, NV, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The entire show runs from October 30 through November 2, but Kat fans shouldn't wait. Registration for the contest starts at 9am on October 30. Kat's appearance will start at 11am, with autograph signing from 1pm to 3pm.
If you don't win,
LA Ink is still accepting applications for tattoos at the shop. The application can be accessed at www.lainkcasting.com.
