Thomasville, Georgia native Campbell is a 10-year-old boy who looks up to influential individuals such as George Washington, Ronald Reagan and Woodrow Wilson, whom he considers to be the best U.S. Presidents. An aspiring ornithologist, he dreams of becoming a Cornell University graduate and is an outdoor enthusiast engaged in hunting. Campbell's interests are video games such as Cabela's Safari Adventure, books such as Eyewitness Book of Birds and My Side of the Mountain, and music genres such as pop, rock and country.

Campbell joins 39 other children as they participate in CBS' Kid Nation, a reality show featuring 40 children governing their own town for 40 days. Each episode of Kid Nation ends with a town meeting wherein an outstanding kid who can confront adult issues while dealing with his own childhood emotions will be rewarded with a golden star worth $20,000.
