As the August 29 opening of Disaster Movie approaches, Kim had been busy promoting her first ever feature film.  The star of the E! reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians is certainly pulling all the stops to make her big screen debut with Carmen Electra a hit.

Recently, the company behind Disaster Movie Lionsgate has teamed up with online auction portal eBay to boost publicity for the project.  They are giving away five Disaster Movie posters signed by Kim and Electra by way of a charitable auction to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, whose main advocacy includes preventing HIV infection in kids and eradicating it altogether via research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs.

According to eBay, the winning bidders will receive studio certified posters along with a singed letter to verify their authenticity.  The auction will end on August 4 and all proceeds will go to the said foundation, which the star of Keeping up with the Kardashians, calls “wonderful.”

“You guys know I love eBay! So I didn't hesitate to help them out for a good cause!” Kim wrote on her blog.

Some observers say that this is a nice step for Kim to take, after her sister and co-star in Keeping up with the Kardashians Khloe was arrested for DUI charges recently.  Disaster Movie parodies the movie genre of the said name as it follows the comic misadventures of a group of people during one fateful night as they try to make their way to safety while every known natural disaster hits the city.

Created by American Idol's Ryan Seacrest, Keeping Up with the Kardashians follows the daily lives of the Kardashian/Jenner family. The show premiered on E! on October 14, 2007, and has been renewed for a third season.
