Keeping Up with the Kardashians: Kim Raises Awareness on the Effects of Drunk Driving
Now that the second season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is over, Kim Kardashian and the rest of the gang are living their lives without the cameras rolling. However, the paparazzi are still hot on their tracks as Kim was recently spotted at the White Party at the Hamptons, where she surprised her boyfriend, NFL player Reggie Bush with a joke about being pregnant.  The 27-year-old socialite quickly took it back, saying that she was just kidding.

Jokes aside, Kim Kardashian recently headed to the Beverly Hills Police Department to send a message out to teens about the effects of drunk driving.  The reality TV star previously admitted that she did not drink much, writing in her blog, "There is no fancy reason for why I don't drink alcohol.  I simply hate the taste! I really can't stomach it.  I might drink once a year on a special occasion."

It may be odd to hear this from a socialite like Kim, but she continues to say that "It's funny that it seems so odd to people that I don't drink.  They all assume I'm sober or had a drinking problem.  Nope, I just hate the taste. I never was a drinker."

When Kim was at the Beverly Hills police department, she spoke of her experiences as a teen dealing with peer pressures related to alcohol and drinking.

"Sometime peer pressure can be tough to deal with," Kim admitted.  "But I let the teenagers know that it's cool to not drink!"

Kim added that when she was younger, her father, the late Robert Kardashian, always made it a point to stress the importance of being aware of drunk drivers in one’s circle of friends, or even family.

"When I was about 15 my dad would take me driving with him every weekend to make sure I was prepared to get behind the wheel.  He made me make a promise to him that, no matter what, I had to go out with my sister Kourtney and her friends, because he knew they were a little older than me and they may be drinking," Kim wrote on her blog.  "I promised him I would always drive them home, and no matter what time it was, I had to call him to let him know we made it to our friends' houses safe and sound if we slept out.  I always wanted to make him proud!"

She did make him proud by dating Reggie Bush, who also was at the Beverly Hills police department and admitted to not drinking too much.

Kim revealed that Reggie "shared his story of determination to make it into the NFL, and that partying just didn’t fit in his equation."

Recently, Kim's sister Khloe had a run with the law and she shared it to the listening crowd.  She added that "realistically most people like to drink.  It's just about being responsible when you do drink.  I explained how Khloe has to live with her consequences of getting a DUI and how she is dealing without a license today."

She stressed that one must always be aware of "what can happen when you do make the wrong choices."

Lastly, Kim said that "It's totally fine to drink if you are of age, but it's just not acceptable to drink and drive!"
