Luke Perry was born Coy Luther Perry III on October 11, 1965 in Mansfield, Ohio. Despite his name, Perry was voted “Biggest Flirt” by his classmates in high school. He came in sixth on TV Guide’s list of TV’s 25 Greatest Teen Idols in the magazine’s January 23, 2005 issue. Perry is a versatile, talented, good-looking and charismatic actor who got his big break in 1989 when he was cast as the brooding and sensitive Dylan McCay on the cult teen series, Beverly Hills 90210. The highly-rated, zip code-titled program was the longest running series on primetime TV and won a Golden Globe as Best Dramatic Television Series in 1991.
Linc Stark, played by Luke Perry on John from Cincinnati, was surfer Butchie Yost’s greedy manager back in his days as king of the waves. Stark returns to Imperial Beach, hoping to manage Butchie’s son and upcoming surfer, Shaun. Shaun’s grandfather and surfing legend, Mitch Yost, isn’t thrilled with Linc’s return, as he considers the sports agent responsible for his son, Butchie’s fall from grace and stardom.
