Love her or hate her, there's no denying that Tiffany Pollard - New York in reality show parlance - has a big personality, and she returns to VH1 tonight with a follow-up to New York Goes to Hollywood.
Sort of resembling Paris Hilton's The Simple Life, New York Goes to Work premieres tonight on VH1. It follows the diminutive reality starlet as she tries to find a regular job. The show promises to be very interactive, as the jobs will be selected by fans via text messaging from a list of three possible jobs. If she is able to impress her employer, she will receive a $10,000 bonus each week; she receives nothing, except perhaps public ridicule (but what is new?), if she either quits, fails, or gets fired.
New York, of course, became infamous after competing in the first season of Flavor of Love and the infamous spitting incident that made her a household name. She came back on the second season to be dissed again. Owing to her notoriety/popularity, she was given her own reality dating show, I Love New York
, followed by New York Goes to Hollywood
. She is fond of labeling herself HBIC - head bitch in charge.
New York Goes to Work
, says VH1, comes in the heels of New York realizing that she can't really do the acting bit forever, so she might as well try out jobs that may be useful in the long term. After her "rollercoaster" journey on New York Goes to Hollywood
, she apparently realized landing roles is not as easy as it looks. "Will she be a Cal Trans sewer worker, a mortuary beautician, or a fast food employee?"
