Looks like the cast and crew of How I Met Your Mother are doing some massive preparations for its 100th episode, celebrating the special milestone by giving fans hints and clues on what to expect as the show doles out major information about its titular character.

"There is some serious Mother action in episode 100," How I Met Your Mother executive producer Craig Thomas told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello. "It'll be the closest Ted's ever come to [discovering who she is]. He's getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it."

So far, the biggest clue about the mother of Ted's children is that she's in Ted's architecture class. Considering that the show would probably conclude once the Mother is revealed, I don't think that Ted's future wife will finally be unmasked so don't get your hopes up. On the other hand, fellow exec producer Carter Bays hints that they "are spending a lot of time trying to cast the female role in Ted's story for episode 100."

But the mother isn't the only thing worth looking into for How I Met Your Mother's 100th episode. There's also going to be a "big-ass musical" number headlined by the show's resident song-and-dance man, Neil Patrick Harris, so that alone should be legen -- wait for it -- dary!

"There will be a huge Barney story culminating in an enormous musical number that we're going to spend way too much of Twentieth Television's money on," Thomas said. "Fans of Neil's performance at the Emmys will enjoy the ending of the episode. It's not a musical episode, but all of a sudden it becomes one. It'll probably be one of the craziest things we've ever done on the show."
