We've witnessed how Zac Efron went from High School Musical to a Richard Linklater flick known as Me and Orson Welles. The actor has just been gaining more and more success with his career, but will he be able to top all that? If he gets to be on another mainstream movie, he might just do so.
But what are the chances of him taking over for Tobey Maguire for the new Spider-Man movie? During the 2010 Critics' Choice Movie Awards held last Friday, Zac Efron discussed his options.
According to
Just Jared, the 22-year-old star admitted that he has no idea if he'll get the part, but he's hoping to. He did stay realistic though, as he knew that being the next Peter Parker would be a huge challenge if he were to take on the task.
"I don't know what the chances are to be honest. I assume they're pretty slim," the
High School Musical actor revealed. There've been reports that
Twilight star Robert Pattinson might also be in the running, which makes the stakes even higher.
"It's a long-shot but if it came down to it, it'd be a dream come true," Zac Efron declared. "What young actor wouldn't?"
Whether or not
Spider-Man will be in his future is still not known, so it's best to see what this actor has in store for his fans.
Disney Dreaming reports that Zac Efron's IMDB page has been linked to the movie
The Hangover 2, the 2011 sequel to the blockbuster
The Hangover.
The original film, which hit theatres last year, starred Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha. There aren't a lot of details about the next installment though, and the news is yet to be confirmed. Still, we can bet Efron has a number of projects lined up already.
