'High School Musical': Vanessa Hudgens' 'Beastly' Postponed to 2011
In spite of the numerous projects she's landed and talked about, Vanessa Hudgens' new movie Beastly won't be making its way to theatres soon. And guess what, her boyfriend Zac Efron is partly to blame.

Catch Zac Efron on the MTV Movie Awards

MTV News reports that CBS made the announcement a week ago. They said that Beastly would have to be shelved for the meantime, only to resurface in March next year.

One of the reasons why the decision was made was the release date of Zac Efron's The Life and Death of Charlie St. Cloud, which was supposedly July 30. It would've clashed with the earlier date for Vanessa Hudgens' movie. CBS made a statement to The Hollywood Reporter saying that they'd have Beastly on March 18, 2011 instead.

"There wasn't much left in the summer that we could move it to, we didn't want to go in fall, and the holidays are for four-quadrant movies," Steven Friedlander of CBS Films revealed. "So we figured if we went to March, we'd have some school breaks happening around that time."

But while we're waiting for that, there's another big project coming up for this High School Musical star. As we reported earlier, she's been cast on Neil Patrick Harris' stage adaptation of RENT. Hudgens will be portraying the 19-year-old Mimi, an HIV positive stripper who's struggling to get by.

For his directorial debut, Neil Patrick Harris told ContactMusic that enthusiasts of the original Broadway production shouldn't worry. "I'm excited about Vanessa Hudgens. [...] I think she's amazing, Big RENT fanatics were like, 'Blasphemy! That's an outrage!'" he said.

But the How I Met Your Mother star has already worked with Vanessa Hudgens on Beastly, so he should know. "I really liked her work ethic. She came in (to audition) and sang well. She's going to be absolutely amazing."

Vanessa and Zac Moving In Together?

We might as well see it all when it's done. Hopefully her co-star Nicole Scherzinger won't steal the spotlight.
